MIRROR is an interactive website that detects users’ facial expressions to identify, in real time, one of seven emotions: neutral, happy, disgusted, sad, surprised, angry, or fearful. Based on this reading, the site generates a unique dynamic visual, generated by code, and displays a phrase associated with the dominant emotion, in some cases the visuals are also influenced by the second most prominent emotion. The project explores the concept of empathy through the relationship between technology, emotional expression, and design. Drawing on themes such as digital empathy, emotional intelligence, mental health, it offers a personalized experience that encourages reflection on how we feel, how we react, and how we see ourselves represented visually. Each interaction acts as an emotional mirror, transforming emotions into visual language.
